Northwestern students awarded prizes at singing competition
Six Northwestern College students were awarded prizes when Northwestern’s music department hosted auditions for the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition.

Dr. Heather Josselyn-Cranson, associate professor of music and director of music ministries at Northwestern College, is the author of a new book, “The Reason Why We Sing.”

Northwestern College chamber ensembles will present a concert Sunday, May 1, at 3 p.m. in Christ Chapel.

The Northwestern College Jazz Band and Percussion Ensemble will perform a joint concert Friday, May 6, at 7:30 p.m.

The Northwestern College Symphonic Band will present a concert on Friday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel.

Northwestern junior music majors to present recital
Northwestern College juniors Drew Lemke and Jacob Ven Huizen will present a trumpet and vocal recital on Sunday, April 24, at 3 p.m. in Christ Chapel.

Northwestern College’s Chamber Orchestra and Women’s Choir will perform a concert Friday, April 22, at 7:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel.

Northwestern senior to present recital
Northwestern College senior Emily Laackmann will present a clarinet recital on Sunday, April 3, at 3 p.m. in Christ Chapel.

The Northwestern College Symphonic Band will tour in central Iowa April 8–10, performing in Conrad, Johnston and Marshalltown.
