Oratorio Chorus to perform at NWC

The Sioux County Oratorio Chorus will be performing Handel's “Messiah” on Saturday, April 27, at 7:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel. The chorus will be joined by the Northwestern College Heritage Singers, a chamber orchestra, and four soloists—soprano Tricia Van Ee of Minneapolis, mezzo-soprano Heidi Woehl of Tempe, Ariz., tenor Jeffrey Brich of the University of Northern Iowa, and bass Stephen Swanson of the University of Iowa. The concert will be conducted by Dr. Thomas Holm, professor of music at Northwestern.

The Sioux County Oratorio last performed “Messiah” in 2009. Other recent works include Mendelssohn's “Elijah,” Verdi's “Requiem,” Bernstein's “Chichester Psalms,” Haydn's “Paukenmesse,” Mozart's “Requiem,” and Bach’s “St. John Passion.”

Tickets for adults are $8 in advance/$10 at the door and $5 for students. Tickets can be purchased at Northwestern’s box office or the Dove Bookstore in Orange City, at True Vine or the Dordt music office in Sioux Center, and in Sheldon at Touch of Hope.
