By the time you are given a student-teaching assignment, you’ll already have spent over 100 hours in educational settings. Student teaching will be the last step before you are finally responsible for your own classroom.
Most education majors do their student teaching at schools within a 60-mile radius of campus, but you can also student teach in urban settings through participation in the Chicago Semester or Denver Urban Semester. Northwestern education majors have even done their student teaching assignments overseas in places like Ethiopia, Germany, Guatemala and New Zealand.
