Dahn works with Moscow ensemble

Dr. Luke Dahn, assistant professor of music at Northwestern College, went to Moscow in May with four other American composers to work with the Moscow Conservatory’s Studio for New Music Ensemble.

A piece Dahn composed for clarinet, violin, viola, cello and piano, entitled Penumbrae, was premiered on May 19 in the conservatory’s Rachmaninoff Hall. The work was then recorded in studio by the same ensemble. It  will be commercially released on CD next spring.

Dahn's involvement in the project was financially supported by a Northwestern College Scholarship Grant.
