Professor's piano composition performed in San Francisco

A composition by Dr. Luke Dahn, assistant professor of music at Northwestern, was performed Feb. 12 at a San Francisco concert sponsored by Composers Inc., a not-for-profit arts organization that advocates for the music of living American composers.

Dahn's Downward Course was performed by pianist Matthew Laurence Edwards, accompanist for the San Francisco Symphony Chorus. The work was described by Jeffrey Miller, executive director of Composers Inc., as "like a moto perpetuo (perpetual motion), full of exuberance and drive."

Dahn's composition was mentioned in an article in the San Francisco Classical Voice.

Composers Inc., founded in 1984, seeks to broaden public awareness of the uniquely valuable contributions of American composers to our culture by providing a highly visible, nationally recognized forum for their work.
