Author to read works at Northwestern

Short story writer Tricia Currans-Sheehan will read from a selection of her works during Northwestern College’s Deep Song Reading Series on Wednesday, March 20, at 6 p.m. The event, in the Te Paske Gallery of the Korver Visual Arts Center, will include a Q-and-A session with the author and free refreshments.

Currans-Sheehan is a professor of English and writing at Briar Cliff University and editor of The Briar Cliff Review. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Briar Cliff University and her masters and doctorate degrees at The University of South Dakota.  She recently won the Headwaters Literary Competition, sponsored by New Rivers Press, for her collection of short stories, The Egg Lady and Other Neighbors.

The Deep Song Reading Series is hosted by Northwestern’s English department for the purpose of allowing students and community members the opportunity to listen to new and established authors speak about their works and share some of their writing experiences.
