Home away from home
Ultimately God led me here, and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. Northwestern felt like home from the moment I stepped on campus. The atmosphere of the campus was a huge draw when making my decision to become a Raider. All the students and alumni I spoke to had great things to say about the community and intentionality of the school.

Mentors + scholars
My experience as a biblical and theological studies major has been fantastic. The faculty are all incredibly knowledgeable. They also carry a beautiful diversity in teaching style and background, which lends to a well-rounded understanding of the subject matter. Another strength is that it is nearly impossible to fall through the cracks. Their goal is always to equip students well and to help them succeed. I have felt very seen, understood and supported by the professors.

Deepened faith
Coming to an institution that is firmly rooted in faith and that draws students from many different backgrounds has presented me with numerous opportunities for spiritual growth. One of the biggest things I have learned is that there is great diversity within the body of Christ. Professors and peers have modeled how to grow in unity rather than division. I have certainly been challenged, being introduced to some of the most deeply complex questions of the faith. However, I have found growth, affirmation and encouragement amidst the challenges. As I grow in understanding and appreciation of my faith, so my faith deepens.

Moving forward with confidence
Northwestern has been so much more to me than just a means of education. I have gained a special community. I am able to get to know my professors and advisers in a very personal way, and that has been important to me. They genuinely care about my well-being and want to help me succeed. I have also found a lot of people I can look up to as I continue to grow in the faith. My experience at Northwestern has led me to confidence, both in my faith and in how I think about myself. I’ve had unprecedented opportunities, and I have peace when thinking about my future because I am confident I will be well equipped for life after college.
