NWC honors longtime employees

Sixteen longtime Northwestern College employees were honored at the college’s Spring Recognition Banquet on April 26.

Three retiring faculty members were recognized for their service. They are John Kaericher, professor of art, a member of Northwestern’s faculty since 1963; Dr. Ron Takalo, associate professor of Spanish, who joined the college in 1982; and Dr. Barb Top, associate professor of education, a member of the faculty since 1993.

Jeff Taylor, associate professor of theatre and speech, received a 25-year service award.

Twenty-year awards were given to Glenda Brenneman, visitation day coordinator, and Dr. Eric Elder, interim vice president for academic affairs and professor of business/economics.

Ten-year awards were presented to Kim Case, interim dean of student development and associate dean for student programs; Barb Dewald, associate dean of spiritual formation; Dr. Adrienne Forgette, associate professor of psychology and interim associate dean; Dr. Keith Fynaardt, associate professor of English; Tamara Fynaardt, associate director of public relations; Jeff Guthmiller, associate director of admissions; Dr. Jackie Smallbones, associate professor of religion/Christian education; Dr. Sara Tolsma, associate professor of biology and interim associate dean; Art Vander Pol, maintenance assistant; and Jay Wielenga, director of development.
