Annual leadership conference to be held at Northwestern

The fourth annual Northwestern Leadership Series, a professional development conference, will be held on Northwestern College’s campus June 25 and 26. Conference speakers will challenge attendees to discover their own influential opportunities and learn ways to impact, motivate and inspire others.

Aaron KampmanKeynote speakers for the event will be Aaron Kampman, former NFL player and founder and CEO of Align; and Joe Urcavich, an adviser with Align whose experience includes his role as chaplain for the Green Bay Packers and work with U.S. Army chaplains and officers. Align specializes in offering personal and professional training for leaders and their teams. 

The conference will feature break-out sessions led by returning and new speakers who will offer inspirational vision and practical skills learned from their own challenges and triumphs in leadership. Experienced leaders will cover a variety of relevant session topics to apply in different leadership roles, including becoming a better speaker, resolving conflict, navigating difficult conversations, and creating engaged and highly motivated teams.

This year’s conference will include a new church leadership track, with recognized church leaders speaking on topics including creating a healthy staff culture, igniting young adults in churches, and creating passionate worship.

Joe UrcavichThe teacher leadership track will again be offered with the optional opportunity for educators to earn a graduate or license renewal credit.

“It is a privilege to host this event for our region and community each year,” says Dr. Sandi Altena, director of Northwestern’s Franken Leadership Center. “We continue to receive positive feedback and are encouraged that our attendees seek powerful leadership development and leave with valuable resources.”

Registration for the Northwestern Leadership Series is $99. Companies and organizations that register four members of their team can register a fifth team member for free. Educators will need to pay an additional $95 for a license renewal credit or $150 for a graduate credit. More information and the registration form can be found at www.nwciowa.edu/lead.
