Alumnus Brian Fraaza to perform

Christian singer/songwriter Brian Fraaza, a Northwestern College alumnus, will be a guest performer in Northwestern’s England Proscenium Theatre on Friday, Oct. 8, at 9 p.m. The concert is free, and the public is invited to attend. Fraaza will also perform in Christ Chapel at 10:05 that morning.

Fraaza serves as the worship pastor at The River, a church in Kalamazoo, Mich. Fraaza began writing music several years ago as a means of coping with the messy events of his world. His first album, All I Need, came out in 2007, and his second album, I Love, was released in 2009. Fraaza defines his musical style as “a crazy mix-up of rock, blues, funk and jazz.”

“I never really set out to write worship tunes, that’s just what came out,” Fraaza says. “I want people to know Jesus. Period. I want them to experience the transforming power of his love and to love him. I want people to learn what it means to worship Jesus.”

Fraaza attended Northwestern from 1996 to 1998 and graduated from Western Michigan University in 2003 with a degree in recreation. He has been on staff at The River for five years.
