Van Engen to speak at NWC

Dr. Charles Van Engen, a professor from Fuller Theological Seminary in California, will be a guest speaker in Northwestern College’s Christ Chapel Tuesday, April 6, at 11:05 a.m. and Wednesday, April 7, at 10:05 a.m. The public is invited to attend.

Van Engen, who will also be the speaker at Northwestern’s Church Leaders Conference on April 6, is the Arthur F. Glasser Professor of Biblical Theology of Mission at Fuller. Before coming to Fuller’s School of Intercultural Studies in 1988, he served as a missionary in Mexico, working primarily in theological education. Van Engen also taught missiology at Western Theological Seminary in Michigan and served as president of the General Synod of the Reformed Church in America from 1998 to 1999. He is the president and CEO of Latin American Christian Ministries.

Van Engen has published many books, including Paradigm Shifts in Christian Witness in 2008, Evangelical, Ecumenical and Anabaptist Missiologies in Conversation in 2006 and Communicating God’s Word in a Complex World in 2003.

Van Engen is involved in the American Society of Missiology, the International Association of Mission Studies and the Latin American Theological Fraternity.
