Dr. Kent Eaton is serving as interim provost for Northwestern College during the the 2015-16 academic year. He previously was provost and a professor at Houston Graduate School of Theology and at McPherson College in Kansas. He was also dean of the School of Humanities, Religion and Social Sciences at Fresno Pacific University; associate dean of Bethel Seminary San Diego; and a professor of church history at a seminary in Spain.

Eaton earned a doctorate in theology and religious studies from the University of Wales, a Master of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University.

He is the author of two articles—"The Entrepreneurial Dean" and "Understanding the Game and Your Team: Succeeding at Working with Campus Constituencies"—in The Resource Handbook for Academic Deans. He has also been published in the Encyclopedia of Christian Civilization, the Encyclopedia of Christian Literature, and the Journal of Religion, Disability and Health. A member of the American Conference of Academic Deans, he has given presentations at the Council of Independent Colleges' annual meeting for chief academic officers and at the American Academy of Religion.
