High school theatre artists invited to explore Northwestern's stage

High school juniors and seniors interested in theatre are invited to Northwestern College Theatre Preview Days on Feb. 23 and 24; activities start at 10 a.m. on Friday and continue through Saturday morning.

On Friday, participants will participate in an acting workshop and tour the DeWitt Theatre Arts Center as well as the rest of campus. They can also ask a panel of theatre professors questions about Northwestern’s drama programs, classes and productions. In the evening, students will attend Northwestern theatre’s performance of the rock musical “Next to Normal.”

Friday’s schedule will also include the opportunity to audition or interview for theatre scholarships. Scholarships are available for performance, playwriting, and technical and stage management roles in Northwestern theatre. Awards are based on candidates’ theatre skill, experience and plans to be actively involved in Northwestern theatre. On Saturday guests will enjoy breakfast with current Northwestern students involved in theatre.

Events and meals during the Theatre Preview Days are free; parents are also invited to attend.
