Graduates post high pass rates on board exams

Recent graduates of Northwestern College’s athletic training and nursing programs have posted board exam pass rates that exceed national averages.

Northwestern’s 2011 athletic training majors had an 83 percent first-time pass rate and a 100 percent pass rate overall on the Board of Certification exam. The national first-time pass rate average is 60.7 percent.

The athletic training program recently received continuing accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education. Graduate school placements of the program’s 2011 graduates include the University of South Dakota and Baylor University in Texas.

Northwestern’s 2011 nursing majors posted a 95.2 percent first-time pass rate on the Board of Nursing exam. The national average is 91.4 percent.

The college’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Placements of the 21 B.S.N. students who graduated in May include the Sanford Health System and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Hospital.
