Pastor of Holland church to speak at Northwestern

The Rev. Ben Aguilera, pastor of community and global engagement at Christ Memorial Church in Holland, Mich., will speak during Northwestern College’s chapel service on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 11:05 a.m. in Christ Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.

A 2012 graduate of Northwestern College, Aguilera earned a Master of Divinity degree from Western Theological Seminary in 2015.His ministry at Christ Memorial focuses on appreciating and understanding the diversity of cultures both inside and outside of the church, and sharing the gospel with those on the fringes of society. He also maintains relationships with over 20 nonprofits and ministries throughout Holland, with a goal of getting church members out of the pews and into the community.

“As a student, Ben was one who easily inspired others to join in campus ministry with him,” says Barb Dewald, associate dean of Christian formation at Northwestern. “However, it was his unwavering confidence in God’s power to work, even more than his winsome personality, that remains in my memory.”
