NWC to host regional programming contest
Northwestern will play host to 17 three-student teams representing five colleges in a regional computer programming competition on Nov. 6.

The work of nine regional artists will be featured in an exhibition held Nov. 11-20 in the DeWitt Theatre Arts Center.

Actor Curt Cloninger will perform one-man shows in chapel services Nov. 15 and 16.

The Symphonic Band will perform a travel-oriented concert on Friday, Nov. 12.

Construction plans discussed by trustees
The Board of Trustees approved financing for a new suite-style residence hall while also discussing future building projects.

Henry Rojas, the former Gorilla mascot for the Phoenix Suns basketball team, will speak in chapel on Nov. 8 and 9.

Stephen Swanson, professor of voice at the University of Iowa, will present a guest recital on Nov. 3.

Jerry and Dee Herlyn of Marion, S.D., will be honored as Northwestern's 2010 Parents of the Year on Oct. 30 as part of Family Weekend.

"The Seagull," by Russia’s greatest playwright, Anton Chekhov, will be presented by the theatre department Nov. 11–13 and 18–20.

Award-winning author Scott Kaukonen will kick off the 2010–11 Deep Song Reading Series on Oct. 25.
