Northwestern to offer summer art camps for grade school and middle school students

Two female students painting at easels in an art studioNorthwestern College will hold summer art camps for students ages 6 through 14 during the month of June.

All three camps will take place on Monday through Wednesday afternoons. Two camps are offered June 9–11: one for kids from 6 to 11 years old, and another for students who are 12 to 14 years old. A third camp for 6-to-11-year-olds will take place the next week, June 16–18.

The camps will be taught by Northwestern art students under the direction of Amy Williams, an instructor of art and design at NWC.

“These camps are designed to bring out the artist in each participant,” says Williams. “The kids will get to create art with all kinds of different materials, including clay, paint and printmaking supplies.”

Classes will be held in studios in Northwestern’s Korver Visual Arts Center. The cost is $100 per student, with a maximum of 12 students per camp.
