Northwestern is the highest-ranked institution from the states of Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota and Nebraska.
“Northwestern is deeply committed to the values of Christian higher education and traditional liberal arts, emphasizing critical analysis, problem-solving, communication and leadership,” says a write-up about the college on College Consensus’ website. “Northwestern’s No. 1 mission is to send thoughtful, compassionate Christian leaders into their professions and careers.”
The College Consensus ranking averages rankings from organizations including Forbes and U.S. News with student reviews published on sites such as Cappex, Niche and Unigo.
“We are pleased to receive another high ranking that validates the high quality of a Northwestern education,” says Mark Bloemendaal, vice president for enrollment and marketing at Northwestern. “It’s our vision to be the leading Christian college focused on student success and Christ-centered work for the common good, so it’s exciting when external reviews and the ratings of students affirm that we are doing an excellent job providing a Christ-centered education and outstanding preparation for entering the workforce or graduate school.”
Northwestern College has also been ranked by College Consensus as third on its list of the Best Colleges in Iowa; seventh on its list of the Best Regional Colleges–Midwest; and 134th on its national list of the Best Colleges and Universities out of the country’s more than 2,800 four-year institutions.
