Northwestern marketing projects win awards in national contest

Northwestern College has won four awards in the 32nd annual Educational Advertising Awards contest, sponsored by Higher Education Marketing Report.

A publication used by Northwestern’s admissions office at college fairs won a gold award. The piece was developed by Northwestern’s public relations office in collaboration with C. Grant and Company of Wheaton, Ill.

The college’s 2016 Christmas card also received a gold award. The project was coordinated by Anita Cirulis, associate director of public relations, and Jill Haarsma, executive administrative assistant to the president. The card was designed by John Vander Stelt of Maurice with photography by Doug Burg of Orange City.

Two publications for the admissions office received awards of merit: the fine arts brochure and an “apply now” postcard. Both were coordinated by Tamara Fynaardt, associate director of public relations, and designed by Roy Trevino of Williamsburg, Iowa.

Higher Education Marketing Report is a monthly magazine covering the marketing strategies and admissions procedures of colleges, universities and schools. Its Educational Advertising Awards contest received over 2,250 entries from more than 1,000 institutions. This is the second consecutive year that four Northwestern projects have won awards.
