Silva candidate for CCCU Young Alumni Award

Felipe Silva, a 2012 Northwestern College religion major and sociology minor who founded and directs a climbing gym in Vulcan, Romania, is NWC's nominee for the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) Young Alumni Award. Silva uses climbing to help youth in an economically depressed area develop trust, problem-solving skills, persistence, discipline and courage as part of the ministry of New Horizons Foundation.

The award winner will be selected based on the total number of likes and votes weighted against the FTE of his/her institution. The winner and runners-up will be announced in early November, with the formal ceremony occurring in January.
