Illinois pastor to speak at Northwestern

Pastor Wanzette Ann Bilbrew, who leads a branch of the Living Springs Community Church in Riverdale, Ill., will speak during a chapel service on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 11:05 a.m. in Christ Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.

A social worker for the Cook County court system, Bilbrew is particularly interested in meeting the needs of women and families in crisis. She leads a team of volunteers in the Circle Ministry to offer help to people in a way that is empowering, not enabling.

Bilbrew is also a member of the Multi-Racial Commission Team of the Reformed Church in America and actively addresses issues of social injustice and racism. She assists churches located in Chicago’s south suburbs with embracing the richness of diversity.
