Northwestern College to participate in Day of Service

Students, faculty and staff from Northwestern College will express their appreciation for the Orange City community by participating in a Day of Service on Saturday, April 14. Volunteers will work with organizations around the community to help out with a number of tasks, including painting, gardening and cleaning.

“The Day of Service is about bridging the gap between the college and the greater Orange City community,” says Lanet Hane, Northwestern College’s AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer coordinator. “It is a chance to thank the community for everything they do to make this place a home.”

More than 300 students, faculty and staff were involved in last year’s Day of Service. This will be the fourth year that Northwestern has participated in this service opportunity.

Community members who are looking for volunteers can contact Hane by April 9 at 712-707-7296 or lhane@nwciowa.edu
