NWC and Western Iowa Tech to sign articulation agreement

Greg Christy, president of Northwestern College, and Dr. Robert Dunker, president of Western Iowa Tech Community College (WITCC), will sign a transfer agreement Aug. 11 at 2 p.m. in Room L304 of the Advanced Sciences Building on WITCC’s Sioux City campus.

The agreement enables students enrolled in business or elementary education programs at WITCC to complete their bachelor’s degree in the same subject areas at NWC.

This is the first transfer agreement Northwestern College has developed with any community college. “We are delighted to announce this agreement with WITCC,” says Dr. Jasper Lesage, provost at Northwestern. “This formal relationship will make it easier for Western Iowa Tech students to transfer to Northwestern. We look forward to working with students who seek to complete a bachelor’s degree in business or elementary education at Northwestern.”

Dr. Terry Murrell, vice president of instruction and student services at WITCC, says, “We are excited to be able to give our students the opportunity to seamlessly transfer to such a fine northwest Iowa institution and complete their bachelor’s degree. We look forward to developing additional program transfer agreements with Northwestern in the months ahead.”
