Dr. Steve Robbins received his bachelor’s degree from Calvin College and his doctorate in communications from Michigan State. He was born Nguyen Long in Saigon in 1965 and emigrated to Kennewick, Wash., taking the first name of Steve from his favorite Dodger, Steve Garvey. A member of the Reformed Church in America, he teaches at Grand Valley State University and seeks to help people better understand complex cultural competency issues.
