Five Steps to an Innovative Solution:

  1. Figure out the problem you are trying to solve
    • “What does XYZ company do different than us?” or “What is missing from our product or service that would make it better for clients?”
  2. Analyze the problem
    • How often does the problem occur? How severe is it? Potential causes? How long has it been occurring? What might happen if the problem continues to occur?
  3. Criteria
    • What is helpful to know about Demco and how they make decisions?  What criteria/standards is Demco expecting?
  4. Brainstorm
    • Don’t stop at the first solution you come up with – evaluate any alternative scenario, assessing the pros and cons of each to ensure that the solution/idea you’re pursuing is the most competitive and thereby profitable one.
  5. Pick best solution
    • Choose the most customer-centric solution to move forward with, developing a base of support from within Demco and prepare for any internal or external contingencies.
