Panel discussion of the book "The Boys in the Bunkhouse"

DeWitt Library is once again partnering with all Sioux County libraries for the One Book, One Sioux County event. This year, Sioux County libraries are discussing The Boys in the Bunkhouse by Dan Barry. NWC will co-host a panel at Dordt College on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. to discuss issues in the book. Serving on the panel will be two people featured prominently in the book--reporter Clark Kauffman and disability right advocate Sue Gant. This nonfiction story about a home for mentally challenged men in Iowa touches a number of themes:

• the treatment of vulnerable populations
• the work of investigative journalists
• the importance of oversight
• the mass production of food
• the meaning of community
