La Casa de Español
La Casa de Español (Spanish House) is family-style residence life that includes 5 to 10 advanced Spanish-speaking students who live together and speak only Spanish when at home.
Enlaces en Cristo
All students with a heart for multiculturalism can join Enlaces en Cristo, an NWC campus ministry among our area’s Hispanic community.
Spanish Chapel
Led by students, Spanish Chapel is held twice a month as an alternative to the college’s regular chapel programming. Participants sing, pray, share and worship in Spanish.
Mission trips
Second-language majors can serve in Spanish-speaking countries through the college’s Spring Service and Summer of Service missions programs. Students have traveled with teams or as individuals to countries like Costa Rica, Mexico and Nicaragua.
Language tutoring
Spanish-speaking students can volunteer as tutors for members of Orange City’s Hispanic community who are learning English as well as for Hispanic school children who need tutoring in other subjects.
Amistad Cristiana
Amistad Cristiana in nearby Sioux Center, Iowa, is a Spanish-speaking church. Students can attend and volunteer with the church’s Christian education programming.
