Northwestern College is fully committed to protecting your privacy. Whether you are using our website or receiving e-mail communication from us, we want to make sure you are aware of the information we collect from you and how it is used.

When you use our website, Northwestern College collects two types of information from you, dynamic and voluntary.

Dynamic information collection

This information also includes a randomly generated ID to indentify your browser uniquely but does not include any information that can identify you personally. The dynamic information we collect is stored in log files and our databases and is not available to you or the public and is kept indefinitely. Voluntary information collection

Some pages on our website may ask you to submit voluntary information. This information may include—but is not limited to—your first name, last name, middle name or initial, address, e-mail, phone, high school, graduation year, major fields of interest, co-curricular interests, and date of birth. This information will be stored in our secure database, where procedures to safeguard the information are in place. Your information will be used only by Northwestern College and only for the purpose of fulfilling your request (if applicable) and for promoting the college to you as a higher education choice.

Alumni of Northwestern College may also voluntarily choose to include their name, class year and e-mail address in our alumni e-mail directory. The alumni e-mail directory is fully searchable and is available through our website. Solicitation from third parties of any information found in the directory is strictly prohibited. You may opt in or out of the list using our information update form. You can also request to be removed from the list by sending an e-mail to alumni@nwciowa.edu.

RaiderLink account

Northwestern College offers you the opportunity to voluntarily create a user account for use on our website. In creating an account, you are required to provide the following profile information: your relationship to the college (student, alum, parent, donor, pastor/church official or friend of the college), first name, middle initial, last name, address, e-mail, and date of birth. You can optionally include your phone number. You will also be required to choose a username and password. Your password is encrypted and cannot be accessed by Northwestern College. Your account information will be stored in our secure database, where procedures to safeguard the information are in place. When interacting with our website, your name and/or username may be displayed on our website. All your other information will be available only to you and officials of Northwestern College. Your account profile is available for you to update at anytime and will be available until you decide to close and remove your account. This information will not be provided to third parties.

Cookies

Northwestern College uses cookies (small files on your computer) to store interactive information, such as your RaiderLink login, time of last visit and whether you have voted in a poll, as well as a randomly generated unique identifier used to help us improve the accessibility of our website. We access this information to help us improve your experience as well as to help us improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our website.

Church or pastor e-mails

The church or pastor e-mail list is built from our database of churches and pastors. If you would like to receive church- or pastor-related e-mails from Northwestern College, you are required to opt in. You can opt in to the church and pastor e-mail list by sending a message to feedback@nwciowa.edu. The parents and family e-mail list is built from our database of parents and families. If you would like to receive parents- and family-related e-mails from Northwestern College, you are required to opt in. You can opt in to the parents and family e-mail list online.
