Ed Sydow brings over 15 years of diverse clinical experience to Northwestern College’s Physician Assistant program. After earning a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, he served as a squadron physician assistant in the U.S. Army’s 4/2 Stryker Cavalry Regiment from 2009 to 2012.
Following his military service, he practiced in a variety of settings, including urgent care, internal medicine, and emergency medicine. From 2015 to 2019, he worked with Emergency Physicians of Columbus, providing emergency care. Most recently, he served patients in both primary care and emergency settings at Chadron Medical Clinic and Chadron Community Hospital, a rural critical access facility, from 2019 to 2024.
In addition to his clinical expertise, Ed holds a master’s degree in biblical exposition from Liberty University, reflecting a commitment to compassionate, faith-informed care. He joined Northwestern College in 2025 as a professor of practice, where he is passionate about training the next generation of physician assistants through clinical excellence and personal mentorship.
