Northwestern student to present recital

Wednesday, April 9, 2014

Northwestern College senior Rebekah Stofer will present an instrumental music recital on Sunday, April 27, at 3 p.m. in Christ Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.

Stofer is a music major with a concentration in horn performance from Camanche, Iowa, and will perform on the French horn. She is a member of Northwestern’s Symphonic Band and Chamber Orchestra; the Northwest Iowa Symphonic Orchestra; and the 147th Army Band, based in Mitchell, S.D. Stofer will play a variety of pieces by composers such as Franz Strauss, Richard Strauss and Charles Koechlin. Songs include “Alla Caccia” by Alan Abbott, “Berceuse” by Jean-Michel Damase and “Horn Sonata” by Paul Hindemith.

“I am looking forward to sharing the gift of music God has given me, and have something good to show for the hard work and numerous hours I have put into practicing the French horn,” says Stofer.
