|Phil Patton, professor emeritus of business and economics, was inducted into the hall of fame of his high school in Philip, S.D., in October. He was inducted during the school's Homecoming actvities, along with his brother Bill, who was a professor and dean of education at the University of Montana.|
Phil Patton retired in 2002 after 40 years on Northwestern's faculty. He was chairman of the business department for 37 of those years. He was a finalist for Iowa Post-Secondary Business Teacher of the Year in 1984.
Patteon earned master's and bachelor's degrees from Black Hills State College and did doctoral work at the University of Iowa. He taught at high schools in Wyoming and Nebraska before coming to Northwestern in 1962.
With the induction of the Pattons, the Philip High School Hall of Fame now includes 11 members who have been recognized for their achievements.
