Northwestern sends out call for art

In preparation for the summer opening of the learning commons, Northwestern College invites visual artists with a connection to the college (including alumni, students, employees and former employees) to submit proposals for original art that might be donated, loaned or sold to the college for display in the building.

A committee of jurors will select up to five freestanding three-dimensional pieces and up to 23 pieces of wall art. The art must have been completed within the last two years and must be appropriate for viewing by undergraduates at a Christian liberal arts college.

Three-dimensional art must have a stable base. Wall art cannot exceed six feet in any direction and should weigh less than 25 pounds. Work requiring framing, if selected, will be framed by Northwestern College.

For additional details and criteria—as well as to submit a proposal online—visit www.nwciowa.edu/call4art. Proposals are due May 15; decisions will be made by June 15.
