Smallbones selected for endowed professorship
Dr. Jackie Smallbones, professor of religion and Christian education, has been appointed to the Marvin and Jerene DeWitt Endowed Religion Professorship.
Nine new full-time faculty members at Northwestern are preparing for the Aug. 23 start of the fall semester.

Northwestern unveils new visual identity system
Northwestern has developed a new logo and wordmark to represent the college on publications, letterhead, the website, and throughout the campus.
Mike Wallinga, instructor in computer science, successfully defended his master’s thesis, “A Web-Based Meta-Tool for Bioinformatics Data Mining Tools” at the University of South Dakota and received a master’s degree in computer science in July.
MaryLou Wielenga, lecturer in music, was an instructor at Pipe Organ Encounter, a camp sponsored by the South Dakota chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
