Northwestern College offers visit opportunities for prospective students

Northwestern College invites prospective high school and transfer students to visit campus during the 2026–27 school year by attending Raider Days or by scheduling individual appointments. Students interested in a comprehensive, in-person introduction to the college may register online for either option at nwciowa.edu/visit.

Dates for this academic year’s Raider Days include Sept. 25, Oct. 9, Oct. 23, Nov. 6, Dec. 4 and Feb. 12. Raider Days tailored specifically to high school juniors and sophomores will take place on April 9 and April 23. Nursing Raider Day, offering information on Northwestern’s nursing program as well as participation in a clinical lab experience, will be held Jan. 29.

Raider Days begin with registration at 8:15 a.m. and conclude at 2 p.m., with optional auditions or appointments with staff and coaches held from 2 to 3 p.m. Students and their parents will tour Northwestern’s campus, attend a chapel service, enjoy lunch in the cafeteria, visit a majors fair to explore academic programs, and listen to panel discussions on topics such as financial aid. Students have the option of staying in a dorm the night before or after a Raider Day. “Students can learn a lot about a college online, but there’s something different about experiencing it for yourself,” says Lori Zomermaand, director of admissions. “A campus visit gives students and their families the chance to picture what everyday life could look like here—to walk around campus, worship in chapel, meet professors and students, and experience the kind of community Northwestern is known for. Our goal is to give students the personal attention they need to discern whether this is the place where they can belong, grow and become who God is calling them to be.”
