Franken Servant Leadership Scholarship

Northwestern offers several $1,000 James L. Franken Servant Leadership Scholarships to incoming freshmen with outstanding leadership potential and a desire to grow as a leader while at Northwestern.

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet either (or both) of these criteria:

  • a high school GPA ≥ 3.25 and
    • an ACT score ≥ 23 or
    • an SAT score ≥ 1150
  • graduation from any local or worldwide CAPS Network program

If you are chosen to receive a Franken Servant Leadership Scholarship, you will enroll in Northwestern’s 4-credit leadership course during one of your first four semesters. This leadership course fulfills one of the college’s NWCore requirements.

Essay

Write a one-page essay reflecting on at least one of the core values of James L. Franken and the Interstates Companies where he served as president/CEO: servant leadership, dependability, integrity, trust, quality or family. Identify why you selected the particular value and how it relates to you. Please upload your essay in either a Microsoft World file or as a PDF.


Letter of Recommendation

Please provide the name and email address of one of your high school teachers who can provide a letter of recommendation for you to receive this scholarship. We will send an email to him/her requesting that they submit a letter directly to Northwestern College.
