Nadia has long felt called to missions and nonprofit work—and after learning about Northwestern’s social enterprise major, she knew she could grow her passions all in one place. Thanks to guidance from professors dedicated to her growth in both business and faith, Nadia built a solid perspective on social issues and solutions.Unique perspective
Social enterprise is a really unique major because it combines the biblical and theological studies minor with practical business skills. It gives students a deeper understanding of the church and ministry while also teaching skills that can be used in nonprofits and missions or even starting a business.
Perfect match
I knew this major was exactly what I was looking for. It combines many of the things I’m passionate about and fits well with where I hope to go in the future. I have felt a call toward missions, and I believe this major will prepare me well for that work.

The faculty here at Northwestern are so incredible. I have gotten to know numerous professors and have amazing theological conversations and great conversations about everyday life. They know who I am as a person and care to get to know me—not as a number but as a real person.
Everyday faith
Being at Northwestern has helped me grow deeper in my faith and encouraged me to make it part of my everyday life. Through chapel, discipleship groups and other ministry opportunities, I’ve been challenged to grow in my understanding of God’s Word and put my faith into practice.
Family
I believe Northwestern offers something that’s hard to find at larger universities. We talk a lot about community here, but it’s true—you’re not just attending a school; you’re joining a family.
