An active faith
Carter chose to study physical education at Northwestern because the wrestling coaches showed interest in him as a person. The support he finds on the team matches the kind of encouragement he looks forward to giving his future students. A minor in special education, Carter attended his first Bible study as a freshman and now leads his own small group in the student apartments.Changing young lives
In my senior year of high school, I worked at the middle school for a semester and fell in love with teaching. I want to encourage young people to be active for their health.
Genuine
All of the faculty are so helpful and caring. Because our class sizes are small, professors are able to get to know students and create relationships. It is always nice when I see a professor and their face lights up and they ask how I’m doing.
Like family
I have gained a family here. The wrestling team is my second family—the coaches are my role models, and the other wrestlers are my brothers. I have gained so many friends in my classes and in discipleship groups.
Finding faith
You will grow in your faith here more than you can imagine. Faith is integrated into all the classes, and they challenge you to integrate faith into your future career. When I came to Northwestern, I found Christ. I went to my first Bible study and kept going after that. Since my freshman year, I now read my Bible every day.
Transformed
I’ve seen people’s lives change once they come here. This place changes lives, and it changed mine.
