
Avid learner
Throughout her career, Dr. DeJong has continued to enhance her acumen so she can help others pursue their calling. Building on her undergraduate degrees in elementary education and special education, she earned master’s and doctoral degrees in curriculum and instruction/educational leadership as she continued to teach.
Personal touch
A mother of five, including two sets of twins, Dr. DeJong strives to be relational and share personal stories that give meaning to what she’s teaching. Students enjoy her personal touch and are encouraged by the strategies, resources and her own personal story of hope.
Planting seeds
In addition to helping to prepare future educators, Dr. DeJong’s real joy comes from sharing her faith and planting seeds for spiritual growth through her teaching. She has always felt called to teach, and her love for God and passion to help others is seen and felt by her students.
Standing out in her field
Dr. DeJong serves as the program director of Northwestern’s Master of Education programs. She is a sought-after conference presenter and actively researches and publishes academic articles to advance her field. Her most recent work includes “The Cake,” published in theReformed Journal.
