Eager for adventure
Andre’s favorite memories at Northwestern College have been the spontaneous adventures he has gone on with friends. When he heard about the chance to study abroad in London, he knew it was an adventure he could not pass up. A business administration and finance major, soccer player and Bridge Scholar, he hopes to become a financial adviser and someday open his own firm.Navigating a new environment
Northwestern has helped me grow not only in the classroom but outside of it as well. I have had to learn to adjust to a completely new environment away from home. I learned to manage my time efficiently due to the activities I am involved in. Most importantly, I feel like I have grown as a man, especially in my faith, because of Northwestern’s impact on me.
Epic excursion
One of the highlights of my experience was my trip to Switzerland with three friends. We rode a train through the entire country, making stops in the mountains along the way. We did a lot of hiking and sightseeing, which was absolutely beautiful. We even had the opportunity to paraglide through the Swiss Alps, which was one of the most exciting endeavors of my life. Overall, traveling was such a huge highlight for me, as I was able to make it to 16 different countries during the semester. I was blessed to see a lot of God’s creation and to explore the world.
Lifelong friendships
Studying abroad turned out to be one of the best seasons of my life, and I would do it all over again. I met so many people both from the U.S. and from around Europe. I left this experience with friends I hope to keep in touch with for a lifetime.
Strong support
I felt really supported by NWC and the global education staff during my time abroad. Kendall Stanislav and Caylan Noble were extremely helpful in getting my semester set up, as well as supporting me throughout my semester. They consistently checked on me to see how I was doing. I also felt supported by my friends and family back home.
