Christian Nursing Scholarship

The Northwestern College Christian Nursing Scholarship was established by the family of Clara Sikma in honor of her lifelong career in nursing. Recipients will be selected by members of the NWC nursing department in consult with the financial aid department.

Scholarship criteria:
  • Applicants must demonstrate a strong Christian commitment and show evidence of financial need.
  • Preference will be given to an incoming freshman.
  • Preference will also be given to a student from Illinois, but students from other states are encouraged to apply.
  • The scholarship is renewable for up to 4 years provided the recipient reapplies every year and earns a CGPA ≥ 3.0 in his/her college courses.

Each year, Northwestern’s advancement office will share the recipient’s name with the scholarship’s donors. The recipient will be encouraged to write a brief note of introduction and appreciation to the donors. Both parties will be invited to the annual scholarship luncheon held on campus each fall.
