Western Seminary president to speak

The Rev. Dr. Tim Brown, president of Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Mich., will speak in Northwestern College’s chapel service at 10:05 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 10. The public is invited to attend.

After 13 years of teaching at Western Seminary, Brown accepted the call to lead the institution as president in 2008. He also holds the title of Henry Bast Professor of Preaching. Brown brought 20 years of preaching and pastoral experience to Western, including 12 years as the senior pastor of Christ Memorial Church in Holland, Mich. He also held a joint position with Hope College as the Hinga-Boersma Dean of the Chapel.

Brown has served on the Reformed Church in America’s Board of Theological Education, the Hope College Board of Trustees, and the executive committee of Words of Hope, and is currently a General Synod Professor. He is also a frequent speaker at pastors’ conferences, college campuses and church renewal events.
