Schon hired to conduct institutional research for NWC

Northwestern College has hired Dr. Jennifer Schon to fill a new position of associate director of institutional research. She will assist Dr. Michael Wallinga, the college’s director of institutional research, who is moving to a part-time administrative role to allow him to become a full-time professor in the computer science department.

Schon earned a doctorate and master’s degree from the University of Kansas, majoring in communication studies and minoring in quantitative psychology. She brings to her role expertise in advanced data analysis methods, including structural equation modeling. She’s also proficient in programs such as Qualtrics, SPSS, Mplus and Excel. Prior to joining Northwestern’s administration, she was a visiting assistant professor at Northern Illinois University.

Schon is a native of Glidden, Iowa, and received her undergraduate degree from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake.
