Award-winning author to speak in chapel

Margot Starbuck, an award-winning author, will speak in Northwestern College’s chapel service on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 11:05 a.m. She will be representing Compassion International and appearing under the auspices of Northwestern’s Ronald R. Nelson Scholars and Artists in Residence Program. The event is free and open to the public.

Starbuck is passionate about communicating to individuals, in print and in speech, the promise that God, in Jesus Christ, is with them and for them. Her memoir, The Girl in the Orange Dress: Searching For a Father Who Does Not Fail, was named the Advanced Writers and Speakers Association’s best nonfiction book of the year for 2011. She has also written Unsqueezed: Springing Free From Skinny Jeans, Nose Jobs, Highlights and Stilettos and the forthcoming Small Things With Great Love: Adventures in Loving Your Neighbor.

A resident of Durham, N.C., who graduated from Westmont College and Princeton Theological Seminary, Starbuck speaks around the country and blogs for Her.meneutics, Red Letter Christians, Gifted for Leadership, FullFill, and True Campaign. She also writes for Relevant magazine, Neue, Kyria, Mutuality, Thriving Family, MomSense, Adoption Today and other print and online publications.
