Northwestern receives Humanities Iowa grant

Sacre is an internationally known bilingual writer, storyteller and solo performance artist. He has encouraged embracing diversity through performances at the Kennedy Center, the Library of Congress’ Festival of the Book, and Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art.
Sacre will present workshops for area teachers, parents and students involved in English Language Learners programs Sept. 16 and 17. His visit to Northwestern College will include an evening storytelling performance on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
The Orange City Area Hispanic Festival kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15–Oct. 15). The local festival will conclude Sept. 20 with Hispanic food, music, stories and games from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Northwestern College’s campus.
