Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF)

For all students

As part of its pandemic response, the federal government is providing a third round of Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (ARPA/HEERF III). Northwestern College is distributing ARPA/HEERF III funds to students with exceptional need as determined by the FAFSA. Whether you received ARPA/HEERF III funds or not, you may be eligible for additional funds if you have further need. If you are in need of additional emergency financial relief, please complete the ARPA/HEERF application by Dec. 1, 2021.

For FAFSA filers: Loss of income FAFSA adjustment

If your family experienced a substantial decrease in income due to the pandemic (e.g., your 2020 or 2021 income is significantly different than your 2019 income), you may be eligible for a “Professional Judgment” adjustment to your FAFSA-generated Expected Family Contribution (EFC). If you believe you are in need of an adjusted FAFSA/EFC (and have not already filed a Professional Judgment request this year), please complete the Professional Judgment request.
