Dr. Cheung holds bachelor’s degrees in engineering physics and computational and applied mathematics from the Colorado School of Mines. He went on to obtain both a master’s degree and a doctorate in mathematics from the University of Wyoming. While at the University of Wyoming, he worked as a graduate teaching and research assistant and organized the Mathematics Graduate Student Seminar. He also led the Fellowship of Christian Graduate Students and served as a graduate student mentor, assisting prospective graduate students in research projects.
His research interests include combinatorial matrix theory, inverse eigenvalue problems, and strong matrix properties.
