Road Race set for October 6

Northwestern College’s annual Red Raider Road Race will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, at 8:30 a.m. as part of Raider Days, the college’s celebration of homecoming and family weekend. There will be the option of participating in a 4K or 8K run or a one-mile walk.

The fee to participate in the race is $20 in advance or $25 the day of the race. Community members of all ages are invited to take part in the event. There are many ways to register, including online at www.nwciowa.edu/roadrace or by contacting the alumni office at 712-707-7127 or alumni@nwciowa.edu to request a registration form. Participants can also register the day of the race, starting at 7:30 a.m.

The race will start and finish at De Valois Stadium. Winners will be awarded medals in the men’s and women’s groups and in all age categories. A grand prize will be awarded for the top male and female in the 4K and 8K.

Each participant will receive a performance Red Raider Road Race T-shirt and refreshments.

All proceeds from the race will go to support the Red Raider track and cross country teams. The event is sponsored by De Jong Chiropractic, Orange City Area Health System, Joiner Dentistry, Van Engelenhoven Insurance, Northwestern Bank and the Northwestern Alumni Association.
