NWC soccer coach earns master's degree

Ben Karnish, head women’s soccer coach and access services coordinator in Northwestern College’s DeWitt Library, has completed a master’s degree in sport management from Southern New Hampshire University.

In lieu of a thesis, Karnish participated in an internship at Northwestern College to fulfill the requirements of his degree. Assisting Sports Information Director Matt Bos, Karnish was responsible for updating the college’s athletics website, creating program guides for fall sports teams and compiling spring semester student athlete statistics.

Karnish, a 2011 Northwestern graduate, will begin a new role as the college’s assistant athletic facilities supervisor this fall. His duties will include helping to manage the day-to-day operations of the Rowenhorst Student Center (RSC), DeWitt Fitness Center and new Juffer Fieldhouse. Karnish will also be responsible for supervising work-study students in the RSC.
