Northwestern wins public relations awards

Two fundraising publications produced by Northwestern College’s public relations office have won gold awards in the 2015 Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District Six awards competition.

Northwestern’s Imagine Campaign report was selected among only two award winners in the Annual Reports and Fund Reports category, joined by Columbia College, which received a silver award. Northwestern’s publication was developed for the 2013 event that celebrated raising more than $48 million for the Imagine Campaign—the largest fundraising effort in Northwestern’s history. The brochure covered the impact the campaign had not just on facilities construction and renovation but also on students’ learning through scholarship and academic program support.

Northwestern also received a gold award for the draft case statement produced in preparation for a capital campaign that’s currently in the silent phase. The publication was used by consultants in a readiness study to share preliminary campaign information with potential donors and to solicit feedback about the project’s vision and goals. Based on the success of the study, aided by the case statement, Northwestern’s Board of Trustees approved moving ahead with the proposed campaign.

Missouri State University and Wartburg College also won awards in the Case Statements/General Cultivation Publications category.

Both publications were coordinated by Tamara Fynaardt, associate director of public relations at Northwestern, and designed by Dave Malec of Stillwater, Okla.

This is the fifth consecutive year the public relations office has won at least two awards from CASE District Six.
