Theatre Patrons seek members

Northwestern College Theatre Patrons’ annual membership drive is under way.

They are seeking membership donations to support the college’s theatre program and students by Oct. 1, when the season opens with Asian Folk Tales.

Membership rates for the 2010–11 theatre season are $65 for an “Actor” membership, and $125 for “Actor +1” (two memberships). Patrons can also join at the “Director” ($250) or “Producer” ($500) levels.

All Theatre Patrons are recognized in show programs and receive pre-paid tickets to the season’s shows. They are also invited to a dinner-and-theatre banquet. Tickets and the banquet are valued at $32.

“Director” and “Producer” members receive two pre-paid tickets per show, a theatre T-shirt, backstage tour and $25 in concessions credit. “Producers” are also invited to a reception and receive a theatre poster.

Those interested in supporting Northwestern theatre but unable to attend any of the productions or the banquet still can join at the $30 “Understudy” membership rate.

Patrons will be notified prior to each ticketed show so they can call the box office ahead of the general public to reserve their preferred seating to shows that usually sell out.

In addition to children’s show Asian Folk Tales, the 2010–11 season also includes The Seagull, Baghdad Tales, and the RUSH student dance exhibition, which has grown in popularity since it started in 2003. In addition, the 16th annual World Premiere Festival will feature a student-authored play and the season also includes two student-initiated shows. Show details are available at www.nwciowa.edu/theatreseason.
